The songs on "Inside the Shipwreck" were written and recorded between 2004-2005 when I lived in a garret in a grey city while in attending university. Each moves at roughly a heartbeat's tempo, and is was this notion, mixed with a fascination of bog mummies and ocean liner wreckage that inspired the
music/words.
Joshua Rex is primarily a painter (fine art) but has been a songwriter most of his life. He lives in a declining city near a lake which once caught fire.
